You know the difference between good gay and bad gay? two hot chicks = good gay. bad gay is everything else.

So, how does an all male cast lip syncing Lady Gaga’s Telephone from a base in Afghanistan pull off something that is both bad gay and yet totally awesome?

Like the Continuum Transfunctioner this video’s power is only exceeded by its mystery.

Seriously, at the precise moment that I thought the video couldn’t get any gayer (it does: the shirts come off and a drag queen is introduced) I looked down at my feet and saw that I was tapping along to the tune.

It’s like a gruesome freeway accident that you cannot turn away from, but worse: you find yourself snapping your fingers to the rhythm of the ambulance sirens and smiling.

Yes, it’s that bad. and yes, it’s that good.

Two of the hottest music stars around have announced they will be bringing their tours to Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte.

On Monday, Lady Gaga announced she will be bringing her “Monster Ball Tour” to Charlotte Sept. 18. An on-sale date for the show, near the conclusion of her tour, will be released in the upcoming weeks.

And Tuesday, the arena announced that 16-year-old pop star Justin Bieber will bring his first headlining tour to Charlotte Aug. 8. Sean Kinston will open. Tickets for Bieber’s concert go on sale at 10 a.m. March 27, at the Time Warner Cable Arena box office, 333 E. Trade St., Charlotte, by phone at 1-800-745-3000 and online at www.timewarnercablearena.com and www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets will also be available at all Ticketmaster outlets.

Gaga’s appearance is expected to be as much music as it is theatrical. according to a press release, Gaga’s performance “promises to push the limits of the live concert experience, bringing fans a spectacle even more eye-popping than what they experienced during the thrilling first leg of the Monster Ball.”

Lady Gaga is touring in support of “The Fame Monster,” which was released in November. the album is the follow-up to 2008’s Grammy Award-winning album “The Fame,” which spawned the no. 1 singles “Just Dance” and “Poker Face.” Lady Gaga’s five singles, “Just Dance,” “Poker Face,” “Lovegame,” “Paparazzi,” and “Bad Romance,” have sold more than 30 million singles worldwide.

As for wildly popular Bieber, he’s the first solo artist in history to send four songs from a debut album into the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 prior to the album’s release. “My World,” released in November, contained the hit songs “One Time,” “One Less Lonely Girl,” “Love Me” and “Favorite Girl.”

“My World 2.0.” is the follow up to his debut album and includes “U Smile,” his new single released this week, “Never let you go,” released earlier this month and “Baby,” which features rapper Ludacris.

MGMT have turned down supporting slots with Lady Gaga, U2, Coldplay and Foo Fighters.

The ‘Electric Feel’ hitmakers – consisting of Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Martin Goldwasser – are determined not to perform arena shows with huge acts because they don’t want to be pop stars.

Andrew said: “We’ve recently been offered support slots with a ton of big bands. Really huge, enormous, big bands – Like Lady Gaga and U2 and Coldplay and Foo Fighters. and we turned them all down. We really didn’t want to do any of that.”

Ben believes the US duo have been “blown out of proportion” as a musical act because their aim was always to be a rock band and not a pop group.

He said: “Well, we really do feel like we were blown out of proportion by everybody. We don’t feel like pop stars, we feel like a rock band. We don’t want to play arenas. It’s not our mission.”

Because of this, they have made a point of making sure their new LP ‘Congratulations’ is different to their last album ‘Oracular Spectacular’.

Andrew explained: “I think on some level it is a reaction to the success of the first one. I mean, of course we were happy and felt lucky that stuff happened, but it wasn’t really what we were shooting for. I think a lot of people misinterpreted and misunderstood what we were about.”
